Publishing the second issue of our newsletter in the midst of a pandemic, is our small attempt to give you some semblance of normalcy in these turbulent times. The current issue features viral (joke!) articles, starting with Jishan who writes about his research on the crystallin protein in the eye, where mutations can lead to congenital cataracts. Meanwhile, Anku\u2019s article talks about his work on synthesizing ammonia to store hydrogen, which is a great fuel source. Parswa discusses the science of supernovas, and how these dying stars have fascinated humans since the dawn of civilization. Following this, Ipsa Jain talks to us about her unconventional and \u2018illustrious\u2019 career choice as a science illustrator, and how illustration can do wonders by bringing more clarity into scientific concepts. Lastly, a section for non-s(ci)ence, showcases Geetika\u2019s beautiful painting, Aishwarya\u2019s explorations into Sikkim, and a few ‘on the fly’ marvels by Surajit and Gopalkrishna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But wait, there’s more. A team of volunteers have come forward to translate articles in multiple languages- Hindi, Telugu, Bengali and Malayalam- a concerted effort to reach out to as many people as possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope you have as much fun going through this issue as we had putting it together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
