Air Travel in India

Khajuraho has a small airport and is served by Air India and Jet Airways. There are hopping flights from Delhi to Khajuraho via Agra and Varanasi. The details of this flight can be found here. Since these are hopping flights, you should also be able to board the plane from either Agra or Varanasi, if that is more convenient. The other airports close by are Jhansi (~175 km), Kanpur (~223 km) and Jabalpur (~250 km). After reaching one of these places, the remaining journey has to be done by train or road (see below). For those of you travelling from outside India, a flight to Delhi followed by the above mentioned flight to Khajuraho is the best option.

Trains to Khajuraho

The other option is to take a train from Delhi to Khajuraho. The train journey is about 10-12 hours. Three trains leave from Delhi in the evening and reach Khajuraho early next morning [UP Sampark Kranti, Train No. 12448]. For those who cannot travel via Delhi, Jhansi and Kanpur are also the nearest major railway junctions, after which you can reach Khajuraho by railway/cab/bus. Please contact us if you require help in booking tickets by train. To book tickets online on Indian railways website one needs to register with a valid Indian mobile/handy/cell phone number.
