National Facility for High-Field NMR:
TIFR Hyderabad, a centre of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, is a premier institute for the fundamental research in India. NMR in India and in TIFR has a long and a storied history. The establishment of the National Facility for High-Field NMR in 1983, with support from Department of Science and Technology, Department of Biotechnology, and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India, was one of the significant developments in the course of NMR research in India. In 2018, this facility moved to TIFR Hyderabad and now houses spectrometers that are available for scientists across the country.
Currently, a 700 MHz spectrometer for solution state, 700 MHz spectrometer for solids, 500 MHz spectrometer for solids and a 300 MHz spectrometer for solution state are operational, with another 500 MHz solution spectrometer in the pipeline.
