Shantam Yagnik
Postdoctoral fellow
I completed my Bachelor’s of Science in Biotechnology from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kollam, Kerala. My research focuses on understanding the interplay between DNA damage responses and nuclear mechanics, especially in the context of YAP signalling.
Sinjini Ghosh
Postdoctoral fellow
I completed my B.Sc in Microbiology (Honours) from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. My research interests center on cellular responses to genomic stress, specifically investigating how the nucleolus functions as a sensor and responder to DNA damage. My doctoral thesis research focused on stress-induced spatial and temporal reorganization of the nucleolus and its role in DNA damage responses.
Karan Bansal
Integrated M.Sc. –PhD, Biology Stream, 2020
I completed my B.Sc. in Biochemistry (Honours) from Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi. My research work focuses on understanding how chromatin-architecture influences histone-dynamics & repair-factor interplay in response to UV-damage.
Shravasti Misra
PhD, Biology Stream, 2021
I completed my MSc in biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) followed by a MS in biochemistry from the University of Houston.
I am interested in how oxidative modifications on nucleic acids impact functional outcomes in the cell.
Souvik Sen
Integrated M.Sc. –PhD, Biology Stream, 2021
I completed my bachelor’s degree from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, Belur Math.
My research focuses on the role of nuclear mechanics in regulating DNA damage responses.
Zeba Rani
PhD, Biology Stream, 2023
I completed my master’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Kashmir.
My research focuses on understanding the role of nuclear actin in DNA double-strand break repair and the molecular mechanisms by which genomic instability drives differentiation in pluripotent embryonic stem cells.
Marwa
PhD, Biology Stream, 2023
Master’s in Integrative and Evolutionary Biology, from University of Kerala, Trivandrum.
My research focuses on deciphering the regulatory mechanisms of the dNTP producing enzyme, Ribonucleotide reductase, under various conditions of DNA damage.
Anushree Biswas
PhD, Biology Stream, 2024
I completed my Integrated master’s degree in biotechnology from St. Xavier’s College, Autonomous, Kolkata.
My research focuses on understanding the role of DNA Damage Response Pathways in Estrogen-Induced Transcription.
Rejoy Dey
Integrated M.Sc. –PhD, Biology Stream, 2025
Having completed my BSc in Biochemistry from Vidyasagar College, under the Calcutta University, my current excitement lies in figuring out how transcriptional noise affects differentiation and development, taking BER in its tow.
