Conference Venue

The meeting will take place in the Samrudhii Resort in Gokurna, a small temple town with excellent beaches near the city of Goa.

Participants will be housed in Samrudhii Resort, or at a nearby hotel depending on availability. The meeting itself will take place at Samrudhii Resort. Conference registration covers the cost of accommodation and food for the duration of the meeting.

Gokarna

For those of you interested in sightseeing near the conference venue, Gokarna is both a beach place and temple place. There are various this one can do here. Pilgrimage/historical stuff/surfing/kayaking and indeed swimming. Just a few things of highlight are listed here.

One option could be to go to Sirsi (waterfalls and shiva lingas on the pond, some 1000's of them) via Mirjan fort. The fort is about 25 km from Gokarna and Sirsi is another 70 odd. There are a multitude of waterfalls on the way to Sirsi from Gokarna. Yana caves is another great attraction. Both Murudeswara and Mahabaleswar temples are worth a visit, the former has some imposing structures. These temples are two of five temples which house a particular relic belonging to God Shiva, all are in and around Gokarna as the relic fell from the hands of the demon Ravana and fell into these five temples.

Surfing and kayaking chances exist. Kudle beach is probably the most noted for these. For the beaches, please see here and here.
