Towards developing new semiconductor materials

Pabitra K. Nayak (faculty member at TIFR Hyderabad) is a recipient of the Swarnajayanti Fellowship (2020-2021). He joined TIFR Hyderabad in 2019 and is working towards the development of semiconductor materials. He is presently studying the properties of materials, such as halide perovskites and small organic molecule-based solids, for their use as the next generation of semiconductors. These semiconductor materials have potential applications in solar cells, light emitters, sensors, and bio-electronics. The prestigious Swarnajayanti Fellowships (Department of Science and Technology) are awarded to young scientists for addressing innovative research problems.
