Research Overview

We are a sensory neuroscience lab and our research is broadly motivated by a desire to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying signal detection and transduction in sensory neurons. Specifically, we investigate the detection mechanisms of sensory stimuli in the periphery as well as the transformation of sensory processing via neuronal synapses. In addition to using classical molecular biology and biochemistry tools, we develop and use single-molecule microscopy techniques to investigate structure-function relationships and molecular organization at signalling junctions.
