Research Overview
Ours is an integrative structural biology lab that aims to understand the atomic-level details of elaborate biological systems that sense and respond to changes within and outside the cell. Currently, we are focusing on (i) uncovering the details of mitochondrial architecture and its response to the energetics/redox state of the cell and (ii) deciphering the molecular basis of the eukaryotic biological clock and its response to the daily day/night cycle. Our lab tries to understand the molecular underpinnings of such systems using structural biology (x-ray crystallography, cryo-EM, NMR), biochemistry, and biophysics approaches to study macromolecular complexes.
