Research Overview

Our is a condensed matter physics lab whose main research interest is exploring glassy dynamics and the plasticity in glassy solids. We are keen on understanding the thermodynamic factors controlling structural relaxation and diffusion in glass-forming materials. We also explore the fragility in glassy systems and the yielding transition in amorphous solids. On the application front, we investigate the stability of biomolecules in a glassy matrix to be able to better preserve them using glassy systems. Additionally, as biological cell membranes are believed to have dynamics similar to glass-forming liquids, we have been exploring the mechanical properties of glass-forming active matter to understand the dynamics and mechanical properties of cell membranes.
