Research Overview

I have more than four decades of experience in developing generations of particle detectors and instrumentation systems, design of electronics, trigger and data acquisition systems for several national and international mega science experiments. I designed and taught numerous graduate courses, supervised many Ph.D. and mentored hundreds of masters and undergraduate students. I designed many exhibits and experiments, organised major outreach and science popularisation events. In my current role as the DAE Raja Ramanna Chair, we plan to re-explore suitability of Resistive Plate Chambers (RPCs) for imaging, and in particular towards X-ray imaging for applications in medicine and industry.
